Approximately 16,000 employees or 50% of Air Canada’s work force. It’s not clear yet which employees will be laid off or if this includes the 5100 flight attendant that have already been let go. Re-integrating these employees post shut down will be a major challenge and will put the collective agreement and other employment agreements to a real test.
